A satirical article attributing to Elon Musk a statement about seeing Taylor Swift at the 2024 Super Bowl is being taken seriously by social media users.
A Facebook post, opens new tab includes a screenshot saying, in part, “Breaking: Elon Musk Says ‘I’d Rather Drink Sewer Water Than See Taylor Swift At The Super Bowl.’”
The quote was shared in an article, opens new tab labeled as satire by a publication called PanoPerspectives.
“Welcome to Panoramic Perspectives, your go-to destination for a satirical and comedic take on current events,” says the “About Us” section of the website.
Almost identical text making the same claim was shared by other, opens new tab publications, opens new tab without the satirical disclaimer.
Some social media users appeared to believe Musk made this statement, with comments including, “He just needs to get in his Rocket ship, and go away,” “Who cares what Elon Mush has to say??? Just another over privileged Billionaire…” and “Extremely disrespectful and who cares what Musk prefers anyway.”

It is unclear if Swift will be in attendance, opens new tab at the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 to cheer on boyfriend Travis Kelce, who will be playing with his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The press team at X replied to a request for comment saying, “Busy now, please check back later.”
