Angel Reese took a few weeks off from the NCAA tournament to deal with her mental health
Rap icon Lil Wayne spoke highly of LSU’s Angel Reese when visiting Tyler Rook’s podcast after they addressed her way of handling newfound notoriety during the NCAA basketball tournament.
Reese has been having a great return to the tournament guiding the LSU Tigers to victory when facing Virginia Tech after taking some time to sit on the bench of the court to deal with her mental health, as she mentioned after the game.
When being interviewed, Reese mentioned that “My mental health is the most important thing before anything, I’m going to make sure I’m OK before anything because I don’t want to cause anything – harm or any cancer within the locker room-so, being able to take a reset to myself. Like I said before, I am human. I’m not just an athlete, and that’s OK to do.”
Angel has been a recognizable face in the NCAA after she’s been getting great numbers and made great NIL deals.
When visiting the Bleacher Report’s podcast, Lil Wayne mentioned “Angel’s a smart, smart young lady, very smart. She takes time to think about the decisions she’s gonna make, rather than you’re opinion in right or wrong, she takes time to think about them before she make ’em… Angel has reached out to me before, not even about this situation,”
Wayne who is a Louisiana native, follows the LSU star and has contact with the rapper, as he elaborated on the type of advice that he would give Reese “The advice I would give her, though… is just embrace every part of it, you know, embrace every single part of it – ’cause if you do, you will know it will never be always amazing. It will never be always good. It will probably be the majority tough, not bad, but it will be majority tough, so you’ll enjoy the good and the amazing much more.”
