Taylor Swift Eras Tour Melbourne … As it happened: US pop superstar plays her biggest show ever in front of 96,000 fans at the MCG

As the clock nears Midnight(s) this little blog is coming to an end.

Swifties: I hope you had as much fun as we did bringing you all the magical moments from Melbourne’s first Eras Tour show.

Swift performs again tomorrow and Sunday.

We’ll be back blogging the next leg of her Aussie tour in Sydney next Friday.

Taylor Swift fans are heading home from the MCG and trams and trains are filling up fast.

“I’ve been working for Yarra Trams for 35 years and I’ve never seen this kind of crowd, even for events like Grand Prix,” says one of the tram officers.

Crowds headed into Richmond Station are facing a wait to get onto the platform, but Metro Trains says it shouldn’t be more than a few minutes.

To cater to the expected rush, Yarra Trams has promised an additional 32 services before and after each Eras Tour concert.

Melbourne’s free-tram zone has also been extended to the MCG until midnight on Sunday, so concert attendees can get home swiftly.

It’s always slightly bittersweet when a concert ends, especially one as monumental as the Eras Tour.

You’re still on an intense high, but know you must now tackle the dreaded trip home.
