Prince Harry Smiles in New Photo with Rob McElhenney and Glenn Howerton at Soccer Game

The Duke of Sussex seemed to be in good spirits with the ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ costars

Rob McElhenney is giving a glimpse of his hangout with Prince Harry.

On New Year’s Eve, the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and Wrexham FC co-owner recapped the last year in photos on social media and shared a new shot with the Duke of Sussex. In September 2023, McElhenney, 46, spent time with Harry at the Inter Miami CF and Los Angeles FC soccer game at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, where he posed for a photo with the prince and his Always Sunny costar Glenn Howerton.

The new picture appeared to be taken during that game and showed the trio smiling for a selfie at the stadium.

“Aside from that slight allergic reaction to the nuts, 2023 was one of the best years of my life,” McElhenney began the Instagram carousel featuring the snap. “Thank you to the people and places that made it possible. My life is full of love and joy because of you. ❤️ So excited for 2024. I’ll stay away from the nuts.”

He also included a picture from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s visit to the Wrexham Association Football Club in December 2022. Last winter, the royal couple toured the Racecourse Ground stadium in Wrexham, North Wales to learn more about the redevelopment of the soccer club, which Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney purchased in 2021.

The American actors bought the Welsh team to take the “historic yet struggling” squad to the next level, according to FX. The ambitious acquisition inspired the docuseries Welcome to Wrexham, which was recently renewed for a third season set to premiere later this year.

McElhenney and Reynolds, 47, escorted the King and Queen onto the pitch, and McElhenney chose a photo from the field for his year-end carousel.

Speaking to PEOPLE over the summer, McElhenney described the progress that club has made as “a dream come true” and the result of lots of passion from himself and Reynolds.

Since the start of the endeavor, he added that they have “taken this entire experience very seriously.”

“With each day, it grows the responsibility of making sure that we hold what we promised to the town and to the club itself,” McElhenney said.
