President Trump Comments on Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts Following White House Absence

During the Philadelphia Eagles’ visit to the White House on April 28, 2025, in celebration of their Super Bowl victory, former President Donald Trump offered high praise for the team and notably addressed the absence of star quarterback Jalen Hurts.

While the majority of the team participated in the ceremony on the South Lawn, several prominent players were notably missing, including Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. According to sources, Hurts was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict.

President Trump, during his remarks, acknowledged Hurts’ exceptional contributions during the season, stating:

> “Complementing Saquon’s historic season was an incredible year from quarterback Jalen Hurts. He had an outstanding season, delivering stellar performances week after week. With 32 combined passing and rushing touchdowns, he truly led the team to greatness.”

In a lighter moment, Trump also referenced the Eagles’ popular “tush push” play and humorously referred to running back Saquon Barkley as “a handsome guy” he wouldn’t want to tackle.

The Eagles’ White House visit followed their impressive 40–22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, marking a celebratory conclusion to a dominant season.
