JUST IN: Canada’s New Prime Minister Issues Strong Statement Toward Trump Following Election Victory

Canada’s newly elected Prime Minister, Mark Carney, delivered a firm and direct message to former U.S. President Donald Trump just minutes after securing a decisive victory in the Liberal Party leadership race, earning 85.9% of the vote.

Carney, the former Governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, assumes office at a pivotal moment for Canada. The country is currently entangled in a trade dispute with the United States following the Trump administration’s imposition of a 25% tariff on Canadian imports—later raised to 50% before being abruptly rescinded.

In his victory speech, Carney criticized the tariffs as unjust and harmful to Canadian workers and businesses. He reaffirmed Canada’s sovereignty, stating unequivocally that the country “will never be part of America,” in response to Trump’s controversial remark suggesting Canada should become the 51st U.S. state.

Promising to lead with strength and unity, Carney emphasized his commitment to protecting the Canadian economy and standing up to any external threats. He framed the moment as a critical turning point for national solidarity and economic resilience.
