Jason Kelce is already being honored just a few days after announcing his retirement from the NFL.
Campbell’s Chunky is celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles center, 36, by making him the face of the brand’s “Legend Edition” can. The limited-edition can recognizes the father of three’s impact on the Philly community as well as his 13-season football career.
The design transforms Campbell’s iconic red and white look into an Eagles-inspired one. The green can has a large outline of Kelce’s iconic bushy beard and eyebrows. His signature is inscribed, too. The top of the can also has the player’s name and jersey number (62).
I’m honored Campbell’s Chunky created this ‘Legend Edition’ can to celebrate me and my football career,” Kelce said in a statement from the soup brand.
Only 620 fans will have the chance to get their hands on one of the collectible cans. The giveaway will open on campbellschunkylegendedition.com on Thursday at 6 a.m. ET and run through Thursday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 2.
In addition to the special cans, Campbell’s is also donating $62,000 to Kelce’s charity: (Be)Philly.
(Be)Philly was launched in 2022 and is a non-profit focused on providing support to Philadelphia public school students. Kelce “founded and put a lot of heart into” the organization, he said in a statement.
On Monday, Kelce announced his decision to retire from the NFL after 13 seasons in the league, seven Pro Bowl selections, six first-team All-Pro selections and one Super Bowl title.
In an emotional press conference at the Philadelphia Eagles Training Center at the NovaCare Complex, Kelce, who was drafted by the team in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, reminisced about his love of the game, which began when he was a boy in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
