Elon Musk Attends Austin F1 Race with Son X Amid Custody Dispute with Grimes
Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk made a public appearance at the Formula One Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, accompanied by his three-year-old son, X AE A-XII—commonly referred to as “X.” The outing comes amidst an ongoing custody battle with his former partner, Canadian musician Grimes.
Musk and his son were seen enjoying the event together, with X smiling as he rode on his father’s shoulders and later sat with him in a golf cart. The young boy was dressed casually in a blue T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, while Musk wore black trousers, a matching T-shirt, leather shoes, and sunglasses.
According to a witness speaking to Page Six, Musk arrived at the Circuit of the Americas racetrack over an hour after the race had begun. “He appeared relaxed and cheerful, engaging with friends before placing X on his shoulders and heading toward the Mercedes team garage,” the source said.
Notably, Prince Harry was also present at the race, attending as a guest of the Mercedes team. However, it remains unclear whether the Duke of Sussex and Musk interacted during the event.
This public appearance comes at a tense time in Musk’s personal life. The Tesla CEO and Grimes, who began dating in 2018, have been engaged in legal proceedings regarding custody arrangements for their three children. X was born in 2020, followed by their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, in December 2021 via surrogate. According to Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Musk, the pair also share a third child, Techno Mechanicus, though further details about the child remain private.
