Breaking: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Engaged in Ongoing Legal Disputes
Once regarded as one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to be embroiled in a series of legal battles following their 2016 separation. Their disputes have encompassed serious allegations, a highly publicized divorce, and complex property conflicts—most notably over their shared ownership of the French winery, Château Miraval.
As tensions persist, the legal proceedings between the former couple remain a focal point in the entertainment industry. Read more.
Allegations of Abuse
In October 2022, Angelina Jolie submitted court documents alleging that Brad Pitt engaged in physical abuse toward her and their children during a private flight in 2016. According to Jolie’s claims, Pitt forcibly grabbed her by the head, shook her, choked one of their children, and struck another who attempted to intervene.
These allegations prompted investigations by both the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. However, after reviewing the case, both agencies declined to pursue charges.
Legal Disputes Over Château Miraval
One of the most contentious aspects of their legal battle has been the ownership and sale of Château Miraval, a French winery the couple purchased together. In 2022, Pitt sued Jolie for selling her stake in the winery to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, arguing that she violated an agreement requiring mutual consent before any sale.
Jolie countered that Pitt refused to buy her share unless she agreed to a broad non-disclosure agreement (NDA), which she claimed was an attempt to prevent her from speaking about the alleged abuse. In July 2024, a judge ruled that Jolie must provide eight years’ worth of NDAs she had signed, aiming to determine the standard practices surrounding such agreements.
Recent Developments
In November 2024, a judge ordered Pitt to disclose documents that Jolie’s legal team described as “crucial evidence.” These documents reportedly include communications related to the alleged abuse and efforts to suppress information. Jolie’s attorney emphasized that she never intended for these legal battles to become public and urged Pitt to prioritize their family’s well-being.
After more than eight years of legal disputes, Pitt and Jolie finalized their divorce settlement in December 2024. Despite the resolution, Jolie’s attorney noted that the legal process has been exhausting, and Jolie remains focused on her family’s healing.
