Beyoncé was named the ‘Mother’ of 2023 over Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue and Madonna in Grindr’s Unwrapped survey
Grindr, the gay hookup app, surveyed more than 10,000 of their LGBTQ+ users to assemble their Unwrapped Report, ultimately crowning Beyoncé as the “undisputed” Mother of the Year.
The “Cuff It” singer took home the title over Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue and Madonna, who claimed the next consecutive Top 5 spots.
“Beyoncé gave us everything on her ballroom culture-inspired Renaissance tour and film, making her the undisputed mother of the year — the inspirational queen who just gets us,” Tristan Pineiro, VP of brand marketing at Grindr, told Rolling Stone.
The surveyed Grindr users also ranked the Biggest Serves of 2023, with Beyoncé again snatching the top spot thanks to all of her outfits on the Renaissance World Tour.
“The queer community has always had its finger on the pulse of pop culture, and it’s always so much fun to see our users’ hot takes on the year via Unwrapped,” added Pineiro.
The next four Biggest Serves went to Britney Spears dancing with knives, Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance, Swift’s stage dive and the Met Gala cockroach.
Though she topped those two surveys, Beyoncé didn’t appear on Grindr’s Song of the Year ranking at all. The top spot went to Minogue’s “Padam Padam,” followed by Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” Troye Sivan’s “Rush,” SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Swift and Ice Spice’s collaboration “Karma.”
Meanwhile, Grindr’s Hottest Man of the Year went to Henry Cavill and their Baby Girl Award went to Harry Styles. The Wrapped infographic also gave Sivan the Gay Gasp of the Year and Best Drag Moment for his “One of Your Girls” music video.
And last but not certainly not least, Barbie was voted the No. 1 movie of 2023.
