Rubio: Court Order Halting Deportations to South Sudan Harms U.S. Foreign Policy

Trump Administration Seeks Emergency Reversal of Federal Judge’s Injunction
Senator Marco Rubio warned that a federal court ruling preventing the deportation of several individuals to South Sudan poses “significant and irreparable harm” to the United States’ ability to manage foreign policy.
The Trump administration responded late Friday with an emergency motion following U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy’s decision to block a scheduled deportation flight. The judge argued the move violated his previous injunction allowing migrants additional time to appeal deportation to third countries.
A Justice Department spokesperson emphasized the urgency of the matter:
> “This situation demands immediate judicial intervention to restore President Trump’s full constitutional authority under Article II to manage foreign affairs,” the official told Fox News Digital.
Rubio further stated that the court’s order has already disrupted diplomatic relations with Libya, South Sudan, and Djibouti, warning that it sets a dangerous precedent by infringing on presidential powers related to international diplomacy.
