This year, Beyoncé left no stone unturned with her Renaissance World Tour. Whether you saw the concert in person, watched it on TikTok live, or just listened to the album on repeat, there was no escaping the singer’s earworms. Equally impressive as her globe-spanning tour were her seemingly unending roster of custom designer costumes.
In support of for her album full of dance, disco, and house bops, Beyoncé dressed to the nines for each and every stop. Sometimes, she leaned into the avant-garde, wearing an ethereal silver number by Iris van Herpen and a sculptural red fanlike piece by Alberta Ferretti. On other occasions, she opted for more overt sexiness, e.g., a trompe l’oeil Loewe bodysuit. There was also full-fledged glamour in Ralph Lauren, and futurism courtesy of Marine Serre.
While any designer would surely bend over backward to fill Bey’s Club Renaissance brief, she also rocked designers’ signatures, including Marc Jacobs Kiki boots, Versace’s Barocco pattern and Medusa 95 emblem, Pierpaolo Piccioli’s PP pink in Valentino, and Louis Vuitton’s Damier. (Donatella Versace designed a look for Beyoncé’s birthday performance in Inglewood, while Pharrell Williams made his first-ever custom look for the tour.) Some designers seemed born for this moment, from Rabanne’s classic silver chainmail to Mugler’s 1997 couture bee headpiece.
Although it would be an insurmountable task to choose all of our favorite looks, here are a few of our Beyoncé’s most out-of-this world outfits for Renaissance, befitting an alien superstar.
