Saturday Night Live star Heidi Gardner has jokingly apologized for being in bed with Travis Kelce when the NFL star hosted the iconic show last year.
The actress and comedian also lifted the lid on what fuels the Super Bowl winner before and during a Kansas City Chiefs game.
Kelce was given hosting duties after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl in 2023 and earned rave reviews for his performance.
One of his hilarious sketches in the episode involved him being in bed with Gardner as her Hinge date unexpectedly interrupted them.
The episode aired months before Kelce and Swift began their high-profile relationship but Gardner was quick to apologize for being in bed with him when discussing the episode.
During an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, she admitted she felt ‘protective’ of Kelce and also revealed that he scoffs Uncrustables on game day.
Told that she ‘loved him before Taylor’, Gardner replied: ‘Yes, I did!
‘I was very protective. I asked him questions, which as a sports fan I am just interested in. Like on game day, what do you eat?
‘He was like “oh, Uncrustables. I’m just pounding Uncrustables”. Even during the games, just Uncrustables. So the Saturday of the show I went to the store and got Uncrustables.
‘I wanted it to feel as much like home as I can. It was cool. Right before dress rehearsal we were in a scene where – sorry Taylor – we were in bed together but he leaned over into me and said “I’ve been eating Uncrustables all day”.’
Gardner also revealed that when she was trying to convince SNL creator Lorne Michaels to have Kelce as a host, he said Kelce had to ‘win the Super Bowl’ before he would be considered.
Kelce did just that and was thrust into the host’s spot on March 4, 2023.
Meanwhile, Kelce was seen hanging out with The Chainsmokers and retired NBA star Chandler Parsons at a Kentucky Derby concert on Friday.
Kelce, who is set to attend the Miami Grand Prix with girlfriend Taylor Swift and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes on Sunday, appeared to catch up with the electronic band backstage at the Louisville gig.
Chainsmokers duo Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart were performing at the Ice House venue as part of Sports Illustrated’s Revel at the Races concert, which took place on the eve of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.
After he was seen enjoying the show with good friend Parsons, Kelce made an appearance on Pall’s Instagram story as he stood back to back with the former Houston Rockets player while smoldering into the distance.
After lapping up the Chainsmokers’ Kentucky Derby gig, Kelce is set to head to Miami with Swift for Sunday’s Grand Prix in Florida.
The couple are also expected to be joined by Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, one week after the quartet enjoyed a double date in Vegas.
